Ex-British Boxing Champion Gary Mason Dies

Ex British Boxing Champion, Gary Mason, has been reported as the first person to die of a cycling fatality this year in an accident involving the collision with a van according to this report on Access Legal

Full details of the accident have been unconfirmed at the moment but it happened on the 6th of January and it is thought to be the first cycling accident of the new year. The 48 year old ex boxing champion was cycling in Wallington, south London when a white Vauxhall combi van collided with him.

Mason who was born in Jamaica, fought 38 professional bouts in ten years between ’84 and ’94, winning 37 of them with the only loss being to Lennox Lewis in 1991.
